Conservative Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Chief Justice John Roberts joined the three Democrat appointees on the court in drafting the majority opinion.

The case of Watson v. Republican National Committee involved Mississippi’s policy of counting ballots that arrive up to five days after Election Day. At least 17 states and territories, along with the District of Columbia, count ballots that arrive late, with at least two allowing them to arrive up to two weeks after Election Day. The case is named for Mississippi Secretary of State Michael Watson, a Republican who oversees state elections.

“In light of the tremendous loss in the Supreme Court today concerning Voter’s Rights, and the fact that ‘people’s’ votes are allowed to be counted LONG AFTER an Election is over, it is more important than ever to pass THE SAVE AMERICA ACT,” the president wrote on Truth Social on Monday.

The legislation championed by the president would require voters to provide photo identification and proof of citizenship before voting in person. An exception would be made for voters who are sick, traveling, or in the military.

In his post, the president added that “there is no excuse for a politician, or otherwise, to be against” the requirements of the SAVE America Act legislation.

Trump then explicitly singled out the Republican senators who have joined their Democrat colleagues in opposing the legislation, which was passed by the U.S. House of Representatives three times.

“All Dumocrats, and our five Republican Senate Hold Outs, Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins, Thom Tillis, Bill Cassidy, and Mitch McConnell must vote to SAVE OUR COUNTRY,” the president added. “There can be no more excuses!”

Before naming the Republican senators and their Democrat colleagues who voted against the measure when it has been brought up for a vote in the Senate, the president accused them of opposing the legislation because they endorse cheating in federal elections.

“There is only one reason to oppose—CHEATING! The House of Representatives has approved this vital Act THREE TIMES,” the president wrote. “The United States Senate seems unable to do so.”

Trump added that because of the “powerful Communist Movement taking place in our Country,” passage of the SAVE America Act is more crucial than ever.

I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
