In a stunning display of moral bankruptcy, the Norwegian Nobel Committee on Friday awarded its 2026 Peace Prize to former United Nations tribunal boss Navi Pillay, a militant anti-Israel ideologue whose career has been defined by an obsession with delegitimizing the Jewish state.

Giving the top international honor to the 85-year-old South African jurist came about a year after her biased U.N. “Commission of Inquiry” issued a discredited hit piece falsely accusing Israel of committing “genocide” in Gaza, NPR reported.

Critics blasted the decision as a direct slap in the face to international justice and an outrageous validation of systemic bias at the United Nations.

“The system of international law is under tremendous pressure, and its institutions are under attack,” the Oslo-based Nobel committee claimed in its citation, completely ignoring Pillay’s track record of turning human rights panels into anti-Israel kangaroo courts.

Pillay’s actual record shows a complete indifference to antisemitism and terror. Under her watch as chair of the U.N. Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, the panel effectively functioned as an arm of Hamas propaganda, erasing context, ignoring Palestinian terror networks, and minimizing the horrific October 7 massacres in which Hamas terrorists butchered over 1,200 Israelis, as The Daily Wire reported.

Her hypocrisy isn’t new. Back in 2010, Pillay’s office refused to pull a monstrous antisemitic blood libel from its website that falsely accused Israeli doctors of a conspiracy to steal Palestinian organs, according to a letter from U.N. Watch. She later defended fellow commissioner Miloon Kothari after he complained that social media was “controlled largely by — whether it is the Jewish lobby or specific NGOs.”

And far from being an impartial judge, Pillay has actively dodged accountability for her anti-Israel crusade. In a telltale moment in June 2023, a hot mic recorded Pillay and her fellow U.N. commissioner Chris Sidoti chuckling about how they ran out the clock to avoid answering tough questions from human rights watchdog U.N. Watch regarding their rampant bigotry and bias, U.N. Watch Executive Director Hillel Neuer posted on X.

The exchange went like this:

Pillay: I thought both of you handled it really well. Sometimes having a limited time is a blessing.

Sidoti: For sure.

Pillay: And you did well, Chris, not to, you know, visit every question that was raised.

That callous arrogance was on full display again on Friday. Reacting to news of the award at a conference in Nuremberg, Germany, Pillay couldn’t resist mocking President Donald Trump, who has moved to sanction the hyper-politicized International Criminal Court, according to Reuters.

“The last thing I did is the delivery of the report on Gaza, naming what’s happening there as genocide,” Pillay sneered to a cheering crowd. “If you clap a little bit more, I may share this prize with Trump.”

The joke was a clear dig at last year’s Nobel laureate, Maria Corina Machado, who handed her medal to Trump in January to gain backing for democracy in Venezuela.

Trump, who withdrew the United States from the U.N. Human Rights Council after calling its bodies “contrary to the interests of the United States while attacking our allies and propagating antisemitism,” has long slammed the U.N.’s relentless campaign against Israel.

By crowning Pillay, the Nobel committee didn’t honor peace. It rewarded a person whom history will remember for shielding terrorists.

I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
