Trump has repeatedly characterized the initiatives as historic, suggesting at the Republican National Committee’s Midterm Convention in Dallas that just his “Most Favored Nation” drug price achievements alone “should win the midterms.”
Trump touted “the largest prescription drug price cut in history” at the convention. “Think of that. And that alone should win the midterms. Honestly, if we did nothing else, that should.”
The president participated in 29 campaign rallies since the convention, as well as multiple tele-rallies on Monday evening, and he often used the rallies as an opportunity to highlight major health care announcements. Meanwhile, his administration was rolling out a series of healthcare initiatives, such as the $500 Obamacare refund checks, $90 Medicare checks for seniors, $275 million devoted to recruiting nurses for nursing homes, and historic investments in rural healthcare.

“President Trump has truly left it all on the field and delivered more for Americans’ health than any President in history,” White House spokeswoman Allison Schuster told The Daily Wire. “In just the last two months, the Trump Administration has announced millions in healthcare deals and put money directly back in Americans’ pockets from the $500 Obamacare Refund Checks to $250 Million in aid to strengthen America’s nurse workforce.”
“Meanwhile, the Radical Left Democrats’ main priority is implementing free healthcare for illegal aliens,” Schuster added. “A healthy person has a million dreams, but a sick person only has one. The President knows that, and that’s exactly why he has worked to transform American healthcare in ways the political establishment never thought possible.”

In early September, Trump announced that the federal government would issue $500 refunds to nearly 1 million eligible Americans in 30 different states. The White House said the refunds were hundreds of millions in Obamacare overcharges collected by President Joe Biden’s administration.
Trump also announced Medicare Improvement Fund payments for seniors in October, one-time payments of $90 per person to help more than 20 million enrollees pay for their Medicare premiums. Schuster told The Daily Wire that the move put American patients first and helped them by “taking on the special interests that have used the status quo in Washington to raise healthcare costs for Americans.”
Also in October, the president announced that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services was launching a $275 million initiative to recruit and retain nurses in nursing homes, and CMS stopped duplicative and fraudulent enrollment in government health programs, saving taxpayers about $1.5 billion over the next year.
Additionally, the administration promoted its $50 billion Rural Health Transformation Program, providing $10 billion annually over five years to strengthen health care in rural communities.
In September, Trump announced lower drug prices for all 50 states’ Medicaid programs, meaning that, through agreements with pharmaceutical manufacturers to match the lowest prices other nations were paying, all of the programs would benefit from lower prescription drug prices.
“With all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico signing onto the GENEROUS model to provide MFN drug pricing on Medicaid, these deals are driving the biggest drop in drug prices in decades,” Schuster explained. “The White House continues to work with Congress to pass the President’s Great Healthcare Plan to codify his Most Favored Nations deals and expand drug pricing savings for everyday patients.”
This fall, the Department of Health and Human Services also announced new regulations strengthening federal healthcare price transparency requirements, aimed at making the healthcare market more transparent, and in late October, Trump signed an executive order establishing a White House Women’s Health Task Force and a new Women’s Health Division, an initiative of his wife, first lady Melania Trump.
