The self-obsessed Twitch streamer, who has bragged, “I am aware of my hyper-masculine bro-like personality. It’s not even cultivated — it’s just who I am,” recently treated his stylist to a lesson in internet subculture.

Piker began by explaining the meaning of “incel,” internet slang for a posture-challenged nerd who “never gets laid,” before puffing out his chest to declare himself the ultimate specimen: a Chad would be someone — and then I would be someone that would be considered a Chad, who is the exact opposite. Yeah, I’m an internet Chad.”

Unfortunately for the hyper-macho podcaster, his hairdresser didn’t buy it. Slashing through the jargon with precision, the stylist cut right to the chase: “Okay, so a Chad is like a normie-like douche.”

Leave it to a hairdresser to cut through years of internet lore in a single sentence.

The hilarious takedown exposes the absurd disconnect between Piker’s inflated self-image and how the rest of the non-chronically online world actually views him. While Know Your Meme notes that the term “Chad” evolved from a slang insult for airheaded, all-brawn alpha males into an ironic meme format, Piker takes his own hyper-masculinity dead seriously.

He’s previously pontificated that “masculinity is just confidence and a demonstration of leadership skills,” trying to rebrand his bro-guy persona into a politically enlightened “alpha.”

Piker can preach all day about his natural, uncultivated alpha energy, but the second he stepped out of his echo chamber, the verdict came in.

To his followers, he might be an “internet Chad,” but to the rest of the world, he looked like a guy paying someone to tell him he was acting like a douche.

I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
