Some women were shrieking together in response to the Cornell 7 case. Other women were screaming and going crazy over the Lindsay Clancy trial, claiming that they were in the same situation. Other women were going bonkers because Shane Gillis noted that women are dressing scantily at the gym.

Why are so many women acting in solidarity with all of this crazy stuff? What is the driving factor?

There is something serious going on here: a complete mental breakdown of society. There is a philosophy that posits, “The things I feel are real, and the rest of the world must conform to it. The world is me, and I am the world.”

This is a belief that whatever you think and feel about the world is the most important thing in the world, and that all of reality must conform to your demands.

This belief is promoted by the legacy media. The New York Times had a long piece about a woman who was married for decades, had children, and decided it was time to come out as a lesbian and blow up her life.

This is supposed to be seen as good. It’s good that she did that because she must live her truth. Personal responsibility? The obligations you owe to others, including your spouse and your children?

That means nothing. As long as you feel something on the inside, that’s what really matters.

All society must conform to that. The trans movement is the extreme. “I feel like something I am not. The rest of society must pretend along with me that I am that thing. And if you refuse, then that is a form of erasure.”

The softer version is, “I’m going to blow up my life at 50, and then the New York Times will do a big profile about me because I am a lesbian, even though I have many children.”

The Times wrote:

Sitting at her desk on a July evening, Shelly opened her tablet and signed on to a weekly zoom support group meeting for lesbians coming out later in life. She smiled as five other group members popped on to her screen. Weeks ago, these women had been strangers.

Now they were among the only people who truly understood her. Like Shelly, who is 50, they knew how frightening it felt to come out after years of hiding. Like Shelly, several of the women were still married to the men they had been with for decades. And like Shelly, they wondered: How do I do this? Am I too old for this? Will I lose everything?

They’re the victims, you see. Not their husbands, not their children, not their friends, not their family.

They’re victims because they feel something, and life must reorganize itself to their whims.

The leader of the group, Anne-Marie Zanzal — a hospice chaplain turned “coming out coach” — kicked the meeting off with a roll call. … “I decided to sign up for a kayaking tour just by myself ,” Shelly told the group on Zoom. At sunset on the estuaries that lead into the Atlantic Ocean, it had all been so peaceful it felt surreal, Shelly shared. “There’s nothing out there about wildlife.” As the sun set, a bald eagle flew by. “It was lovely,” Shelly said, shaking her head in wonder. Afterward, Shelly thought about how different she would have felt if she had been out there with her husband, pretending to be someone she is not.

“It wouldn’t have been as lovely,” Shelly said. “No,” Zanzal agreed. “No,” Shelly repeated, her voice soft but firm. … With Zanzal’s help she was starting to accept that any unhappiness her children felt was likely to fade with time.

You see, her kids don’t matter. That’s not the priority. The priority is that she feels complete when she’s sitting alone in a river watching an eagle, not that she blew up her kids’ lives.

“One of the things I thought about a lot is if I don’t come out, if I keep living the way I have been, I am just not going to have happiness,” she said.

Happiness over the course of a life is not about you feeling fulfilled in any one given moment. That is not how it works. It is about building a life of meaning and value.

But we have an entire society that is built around the opposite. Now your level of personal fulfillment is the only thing that matters; everyone else be damned.

If this story were about a man divorcing at 50 for a much younger woman, no one would be sympathetic. Imagine this were some 50-year-old dude who decided, “Hey, I’m not sexually fulfilled because my wife is also 50 and she’s not as hot as she used to be, and now I really want to have sex with the hot young thing down the hall, because that’s what my heart tells me. My heart tells me that’s the priority. I can’t find happiness. You think I’m gonna find happiness by being with this schlub? I’m out. Sure, I have three kids under 20, but the important thing is finding my peace.”

That mentality destroys lives because happiness doesn’t come from that. It doesn’t come from you deciding that the world must conform to your vision of yourself.

There was a tweet that was widely trafficked the other day on X. It stated, “My wife and I decided to get a divorce. There were no fights, just two adults who realized they drifted apart from each other. This is probably the hardest thing I had to go through. First of all, telling our girls…seeing them so sad was heartbreaking. But we are still a team as parents and we’ll do everything for them.”

No, you won’t. You literally didn’t. Nothing went wrong. She didn’t abuse you. You didn’t abuse her. You blew up your family because you’re both narcissists. That’s what happened.

“We will do everything for them.”

No, you won’t. The one thing you could have done for them is to stay together. You want your children to be happy? Then model good wife-husband behavior for your kids.

My kids are very happy kids. There are many reasons for that, but the biggest reason is that my wife and I have a great relationship that we work on all the time, because that’s what marriage is.

We’re the same person. We became one flesh, and that’s the way that it works. If you’re married for a long time, your spouse is a part of you. There is no actual real separation between the two of you. Your interests are her interests. Her interests are your interests. Your priorities are exactly the same. You are a family unit.

But when you see yourself as just a couple of people who are drifting through life, and then you drift apart, like a couple of boats drifting apart in their own waters, and that’s what matters. Then you’re doing it wrong.

You’re not just wrecking your own life. You’re wrecking the life of your kids.

This philosophy of narcissism bleeds into every area of our politics. It bleeds down into economics. It bleeds down into social policy.

The Free Press and CBS hosted a debate between Allie Beth Stuckey and a Democratic strategist, Deja Foxx.

Allie Beth asked the most basic question of all when it came to trans politics: Can you even define what a woman is?

She said:

First of all, there’s no such thing as a trans woman because it’s not possible to transition your sex. There’s male and there’s female, and there are people who identify as the opposite sex. But we are not who we are by declaration. We don’t just get to say I am the opposite sex and put on different clothes, and then you are. And if that is the only definition of what it means to be a woman, then there really is no definition. I mean, “trans women are women” is the most nonsensical motto because you can’t even define what a woman is.

And so, yes, of course, it sets women back to say, “Sure, in these spaces you can have men; you can have boys; they can take the scholarships; they can run the races; they can go into the bathroom, they can go into the locker room. They can say that they are women.” And I think it’s really important, if we’re going to define our terms, and you’re going to say that you are for the empowerment of women, and you are to say that you are a feminist, that you are able to actually define what a woman is. So can you tell me: What is a woman?

Allie Beth asked a very reasonable question. And here is how Foxx responded:

One percent of the population here in the United States is trans, and you wouldn’t know it from the way Fox News runs hundreds of headlines. But again, I want to bring the audience in. You know, trans sports, trans folks playing sports is something we see all the time in the headlines. But has anybody here been personally impacted by a trans athlete?

I wanna finish with just one point, which is that that’s because trans athletes make up .002% of college athletes. And to your point about what does it mean then to be a danger to women’s spaces, the way that we are giving oxygen to this non-issue, this manufactured culture war, comes at the cost of being able to talk about real women’s issues, like how the rising cost of gas and groceries probably made it harder for you to get here today.

Oh. Because the real women’s issue is the same as everybody else’s issue, which means it’s not a women’s issue; it’s an everybody issue, so you shouldn’t call it a women’s issue.

But as Allie Beth pointed out, then why are you guys making this one of your priorities and playing this idiotic motte-and-bailey game where trans rights are human rights, but the minute you are questioned on that, you say, “No, no, no, we just need to talk about grocery prices”?

She concluded, “So is it really conservatives who are making this a part of the culture war, or is it not feminists who have brought the issue to the forefront? If it’s not important, just say what a woman is.”

Allie Beth was totally correct, and her opponent couldn’t answer that basic question.

Of course she couldn’t answer that question because the core of modern leftism is the idea that reality exists within you. Reality is external to you. You are not defined by your actual biology. You are defined by what you feel inside.

It’s not true. The belief that whatever you think and feel about the world is the most important thing in the world, and that all of reality must conform to your demands, is wrong.

On every level.

I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
