Leftist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) pilloried New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and lied about Israel committing a genocide as she defended antisemitic rapper Macklemore on Tuesday.

Ocasio-Cortez told TMZ that she is tuning out hitmaker Ed Sheeran, tuning into cancel culture, and going to bat for anti-Israel rhetoric. She vowed to switch the station whenever Sheeran comes on the radio, all because his North American tour booted rapper Macklemore over his relentless anti-Israel rants.

AOC took dead aim at Kraft, throwing wild accusations at the billionaire sports titan and other venue owners.

“I think that what we’ve seen, especially it’s not just what has happened with the act and not just in removing Macklemore from the lineup, but when you see what Robert Kraft did to line up all of the stadiums, to censor speech in that one specific way,” she claimed. “It’s become clear that this is not just about one music artist or two music artists. But this is about how just a handful of stadium owners and the elite can prevent an entire massive issue, in this case, the genocide in Gaza.”

Meanwhile, opening acts like Aaron Rowe and Finneas and Irish folk group Beoga jumped ship from Sheeran’s tour to play the victim card.

Critics were quick to call out the congresswoman’s glaring double standard.

Former U.S. ambassador to Israel David Friedman noted, “So Robert Kraft can’t decide who performs in his stadium but the @nytimes, the Hollywood elite, and liars like AOC can determine what biased messaging they choose to distribute!”

Investigative journalist Gerald Posner commented, “AOC thinks her presidential primary lane rewards punching the ‘elite’ and calling Gaza a ‘genocide.’ Private venues declining to host a rapper who made antisemitic provocation part of his act is not censorship. It’s a consequence she only notices when the target is Jews. Siding with Macklemore tells you which minority is expendable in her 2028 run.”

Journalist Emily Schrader shared a side-by-side photo of Sheeran singing at a concert compared to Macklemore performing in an antisemitic costume in 2014 and noted, “AOC wants you to boycott the guy on the left because he wanted to do his job and play music for fans….in support of the guy on the right who does Nazi salutes in Jew face… This was never about ‘Palestinians.’”

The irony of AOC playing the free speech martyr is rich, given her own dubious track record on censorship. This is, after all, the same politician who openly advocated for federal crackdowns on broadcast outlets, once demanding regulators step in to muzzle news networks like Fox News over alleged “incitement.”

She stated in 2023, “I believe that when it comes to broadcast television, like Fox News, these are subject to federal law [and] federal regulation in terms of what’s allowed on air and what isn’t,” adding that “when you look at” what the hosts on Fox News did, “it is very, very clearly incitement of violence. Very clearly incitement of violence.”

While private platform moderation on social media or private stadium bookings earn her wrath when it hurts her political allies, she has zero issue calling for the heavy hand of the federal government to police speech she dislikes.

Her definition of “censorship” depends entirely on who is holding the microphone.

I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
