What five-letter word starts with a T, ends with an S, and motivates Democrat Senate hopeful James Talarico? Texas is one correct answer. So is Trans.

The recently AWOL, now resurfaced, candidate is so obsessed with transgenderism, he should rechristen himself James Transarico.
“Defending trans Texans is something we have to do every day at the state Capitol,” Transarico told St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Austin. He also announced: “Our trans community needs abortion care, too.” Since males cannot get pregnant, Transarico applauds women who think they are men, conceive children, and then kill them before birth.
Transarico must be a biologist. What else explains this April 2021 comment?
“Modern science obviously recognizes that there are many more than two biological sexes. In fact, there are six.” If Transarico and his opponent ever debate, Attorney General Ken Paxton, R-Texas, should challenge his rival: “You count six sexes. Name them.”
Perhaps modern science prompted Transarico to call women in 2022, “our neighbors with a uterus.” This is demeaning and, also, dreadful English.
Women deserve respect as complete human beings, not as mere reductive references to their reproductive organs. Likewise, we men should not be belittled as “Americans with a scrotum.” The patriarchy has far more to offer than that.
Transarico’s sexist trivialization of women aside, females do not share “a uterus,” as if they pass around the same womb to get pregnant.
“Janet, now that you and Steve have had your third child, would you please drop off the uterus? Marco and I want kids, too.”
If Transarico misogynistically sees woman solely as baby factories, he at least should be grammatical and call them “our neighbors with uteri.”
Transarico once asked parishioners, “Did they teach you in Sunday school that Jesus Christ Himself was a radical feminist?”
Transarico probably believes that Jesus supports Planned Parenthood.
Underscoring his unconventional theology, Transarico described Christ as a “socialist anarchist from Palestine” and notoriously declared: “God is non-binary.” He also stated: “I always think of myself as a Christian who hates Christianity.”
Ever the civic booster, Transarico remarked in May 2023, “We produce some of the best drag performers in the nation.” Last month, a man asked, “Who’s your favorite drag queen in Texas?” In literally less than one second, Transarico chirped: “Oh, my gosh. Probably Alyssa Edwards” — the nom de femme of Justin Dwayne Lee Johnson.
Some things should not be that top of mind.
Beyond the easy answer, “None,” I needed time to nominate my top drag queens: The late, great Gene Hackman in “The Bird Cage” and Mike Meyers as “Saturday Night Live’s” Linda Richman, the Long Islander who complains in Yiddish about “shpilkes in my genechtagazoink.”
Unfortunately, Transarico’s pro-transgenderism involves minors.
In October 2019, he said, “It’s abusive for sure” for parents to deny a child’s gender identity, even though some (perhaps many) kids outgrow gender confusion. Others simply might be gay, rather than males shoehorned into female bodies, or vice versa.
In February 2022, Transarico mentioned via X, “Things that are not child abuse: Gender-affirming health care.” Soothing euphemisms aside, it is cruel and unusual to encourage boys and girls under age 18 to undergo hormone injections, irreversible puberty blockers, and even permanent mutilation and amputation of their sex organs — sometimes with neither parental approval nor even notice.
Transarico now claims that he opposes sex changes for minors. But his minister, Reverend Babs Miller, predicts, “I can guarantee you that once he gets elected, he’ll change his tune back to where he was.”
In a video that surfaced last March, Transarico creepily cited something that he loves, outside family and friends: “The trans children who showed up yesterday at the state Capitol.”
Texas has elected normal Democrats statewide, albeit not since 1994. These have included Senators. Lyndon Baines Johnson and Lloyd Bentsen and Governors Mark White and Ann Richards. Win or lose, James Transarico never will join that list.
