GOP Senate Campaign Chief Rips Talarico’s ‘Non-Binary God,’ Predicts ‘Ruby Red’ Texas

Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) said Wednesday he is confident Republicans will hold the Senate majority despite a tough political environment and a growing number of toss-up races.

“We will hold the Senate majority without question,” Scott, chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, said on a press call attended by The Daily Wire. “Expanding the majority is not outside the realm of reason.”

The confidence comes as voters remain frustrated by gas prices and polls show many Republican candidates struggling. Polling shows Republicans in typically red states like Texas and Iowa trailing or narrowly leading their Democrat opponents, while GOP candidates have struggled to gain momentum in battlegrounds such as Georgia and North Carolina.

Scott attributed his optimism to the high number of close races and Republicans’ large cash advantage. He credited MAGA INC., a PAC aligned with President Donald Trump, with being “a powerful tool that is providing us with the firepower necessary to really share our message.”

MAGA INC. has reported more than $400 million in cash at the end of July and has spent heavily in Texas, where Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton is running against Democrat James Talarico. Talarico has outraised Paxton, but Republican outside grouops have spent far more on the race.

Scott dismissed concerns about Texas.

“I’m very confident that Texas will be red, ruby red, at the end of this campaign,” he said.

Asked by The Daily Wire about Talarico campaigning on his Christian faith, Scott questioned the Democrat’s theology.

“When you believe in a non-binary God, in six genders, I just don’t know where that foundation is within Christianity,” Scott said. “But I will say, without any question, that the race that will be decided will be decided by voters who believe in America, who believe in the foundation of this nation, who believe in the rule of law.”

Scott praised Minnesota Republican Michele Tafoya, who is running for Senate against Democratic Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan. He called the race “one of the most exciting races in our entire Senate map.”

“She may be the best recruit in Minnesota in half a century.  She is just amazing, and, frankly, even the Democrats have acknowledged that Michele Tafoya is a great candidate, and a dangerous candidate, because she is a popular candidate,” he said. 

Scott said he believed that Republicans’ key to victory would be attacking the Left. 

“We have to just have to continue to help the American people see the lunacy on the Left, and that helps us close really well,” he said. “And that’s why I’m confident that we will be in the majority.”
