Kimberly Guilfoyle Vows To Fight Corruption Charges, Resigns At Trump’s Request

U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle announced her resignation and pushed back against recent misconduct allegations on Tuesday, shortly after the White House asked her to step down from her post.

Guilfoyle took to X to defend her tenure and pledge continued loyalty to President Donald Trump.

“Serving as the United States Ambassador to Greece has been the honor of a lifetime,” Guilfoyle wrote shortly after new White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia confirmed that the administration had asked for her resignation. “These allegations are false, and I intend to vigorously defend my name, my reputation, and my integrity.”

The White House’s request for her departure followed investigations by the State Department’s Office of Inspector General into financial and workplace conduct allegations, which Guilfoyle’s legal team has repeatedly denied.

In her statement, Guilfoyle highlighted several diplomatic and economic milestones during her time in Athens, including historic agreements expanding American liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports to Europe, advancing energy initiatives to reduce reliance on Russia, and bolstering defense ties with the NATO ally.

Despite the administration moving to replace her, Guilfoyle expressed unwavering support for the president and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

“My gratitude and respect for President Trump and Secretary Rubio remain unwavering,” she stated, emphasizing that her commitment to the “America First” movement “will never end.”
