On Tuesday night, the billionaire Philadelphia 76ers star couldn’t even manage to stand still and show a little respect for Old Glory.

Prior to a clash with the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, the 76ers forward was caught on camera casually practicing his golf swing right in the middle of the national anthem. While the anthem played, King James treated the Star-Spangled Banner like a warm-up routine.

On Thursday, President Donald Trump reacted on Truth Social.

“I said right from the beginning that he’s no good, a TOTAL DISGRACE,” Trump wrote. “LeBron James should apologize to all of those Great American Warriors and Heroes who died for the American Flag, and all that our Country stands for!”

It is just the latest swing-and-a-miss in LeBron’s long history of slamming America while raking in tens of millions of dollars within its borders.

Back in July 2022, James took a swipe at the nation during the detention of WNBA player Brittney Griner in Russia. Speaking on his show “The Shop,” James openly questioned why Griner would even want to return to the U.S., asking, “How can she feel like America has her back? I would be feeling like, ‘Do I even want to go back to America?’”

That immediately drew the ire of former NBA center Enes Kanter Freedom, a naturalized U.S. citizen who has been branded a fugitive by Turkey’s government and has been a relentless critic of Communist China’s human rights abuses.

“You are free to leave buddy or you can even volunteer for an exchange for her,” Freedom fired back on social media. “Some people literally have NO idea what is it like to live in a dictatorship. Keep taking your freedom for granted.”

While LeBron has pocketed massive paychecks from Nike, which is deeply tied to Chinese manufacturing, he has rarely missed an opportunity to bash his home country.

That habit was on full display in January 2021 following the breach at the U.S. Capitol. Rolling up to the arena in a T-shirt asking “Do you understand now,” James claimed black Americans get “a slap in the face” from the nation and complained that the nation had “s*** away four years” under Trump. He went on to complain that America was looking like a “third-, fourth-, fifth-world country.”

James omitted the fact that the country he called an embarrassment handed him a platform to build a net worth of $1.4 billion, complete with a $153 million Lakers contract he got in 2018 and a lifetime corporate deal with Nike.

Off the political court, LeBron’s elite detachment is still apparent. He took heat for insulting the “stay-at-home woman,” saying he couldn’t be with a woman who just sits on the couch every day, prompting outrage from everyday parents who perform real labor without a team of maids and assistants.

No matter how much wealth and privilege America gives him, James will always find a reason to trash the court he plays on.

I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
