"Zohran the moron is the most divisive mayor in the history of this city by far," the celebrity asserted. "He's a two-bit con man."

"His wife is an antisemite. His wife is a racist" as well as ‘a homophobic,’" Rapaport said.

The mayor's office on Friday responded to Fox News Digital's comment request by referring to remarks Mamdani made when asked earlier this week about the planned gathering.

"I welcome them," the mayor said. "They can have a vigil, or I've heard some describe it even as a protest."

Mamdani said whatever the gathering "is intended to be, they have the room and space to do so outside of Gracie Mansion."

"I think that at the time that they are there I will probably be somewhere else across the city," he said.

Rapaport said he is "absolutely considering running for mayor," though he left the door open to backing another candidate if that person would have "a better chance of winning." The next Big Apple mayoral contest is in 2029.

Rabbi Binyamin Krauss, principal of SAR Academy, a Modern Orthodox school in New York City, explained the plans for the gathering in a piece published by The Times of Israel.

"On Friday morning, students from SAR, Ramaz, and a number of other schools will stand on East 88th Street and daven. They’ll sing. A few of them will speak. Then they’ll get back on the buses and return to class, two days before Yom Kippur," Krauss wrote.

"Here’s what we want students to learn in the three periods this costs: you belong in this city, and when Jews feel unsafe we gather, and we pray, out loud. We express both our vulnerability and our agency at the same time. Showing up is a civic act, one the Constitution protects and one they’ll need for the rest of their lives," he noted. "Our students love this city and they love Israel, and they don’t see a contradiction."

There were also individuals who appeared to be Jewish counter-protesters expressing anti-Israel sentiments near the gathering on Friday. They could be seen with a sign with the messages, "Mayor Mamdani A Friend of Jews While Opposing Israeli Crimes" and "Anti-Zionism Is NOT Anti-Semitism."

I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
