A sign posted at Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, according to a report from The Telegraph, states that staffers have “removed human remains from this display as a mark of respect.”

Glasgow Life, a nonprofit that oversees cultural institutions throughout the city, said the decision reflected “contemporary” museum views on displaying human remains.

“The International Council of Museums’ revised Code of Ethics, published in June 2026, states that museums ‘should uphold the inherent dignity of human remains and promote respect for their significance.’ Glasgow Life Museums’ draft Human Remains Policy proposes that human remains should only be displayed where there is documented and informed consent from the deceased individual or, in appropriate circumstances, their descendants,” the statement read.

“In the absence of such consent, we believe removing ancient Egyptian human remains from display is more respectful to the deceased individuals,” it continued.

In addition to the remains of a priest named Nekt, the museum removed a mummified right hand, foot, and head belonging to an unidentified male, reportedly uncovered in the Valley of the Kings in Luxor, Egypt.

During a GB News panel discussion, Will Kingston had a simpler assessment: “How absolutely insane.”

“I’ve been wondering where the woke brigade will turn to next,” he said. “Gaza, trans, climate change, it’s all running out of steam a bit, and we’ve found the next cause celebre: it’s mummies’ rights!”

“The dead can’t give consent,” one of the presenters replied.

“Nekt was unavailable for comment,” Kingston added. “How absolutely insane, and it just goes to show that this sort of stuff, there’s no lengths that they can’t go to with regard to how ludicrous this stuff is. It’s incredible.”

“That is bonkers,” the presenter agreed.

Even the liberal on the panel — who stipulated that he did not believe climate change was “woke” agreed that the museum’s actions were “just mad.”

I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
