NFL Player Accused In Mafia-Style Kidnapping Plot

Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold was arrested Wednesday night and faces potential life in prison as he’s accused of masterminding an elaborate act of revenge.

Arnold was arrested after turning himself in to the Hillsborough County, Florida, Sheriff’s Office. The young NFL player is charged with four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery from an incident that occurred in February. The three victims in the case were individuals he believed robbed him and his friends of upwards of $250,000 earlier that same month.

Arnold, who was picked in the first round of the 2024 draft after a standout career at Alabama, developed a close personal relationship with legendary Alabama coach Nick Saban while playing for the Crimson Tide.

The alleged plan to kidnap and beat the victims stems from an event that took place on February 1, when Arnold and three others filed a report with the Largo Police Department in Florida, claiming that more than $250,000 was stolen from their Airbnb. Arnold, in particular, claimed “cash, watches, jewelry, designer bags, shoes, and a cell phone” were taken from him.

Arnold is believed to have begun organizing the ploy with six co-conspirators on February 3, when he reached out to two of the others charged with a plan to lure one of the suspected robbers into their apartment, according to authorities.

The following night, three victims, including Arnold’s personal driver, were held at gunpoint before they were beaten, pistol-whipped, and robbed.

Six other codefendants were arrested between the night of the event and March 21: Arianna Del Valle, Jasmine Randazzo, Lyndell Hudson, Christion Williams, Boakai Hilton, and Freddie Lee Hughes III.

Alleged evidence of Arnold “orchestrating the kidnapping” was found in a group chat that Arnold and Hilton used to give specific directions to Del Valle, Williams, and Hudson, ESPN reported.

According to The Detroit Free Press, Arnold told Largo Police following the alleged robbery that he heard “something that had ended up happening with [the driver and his friends] and some girls or something like that.”

Arnold’s representative, Denise White, CEO of EAG Sports Management, denied the allegations in a statement posted to X.

The Detroit Lions released a statement announcing that the team is aware of and monitoring the situation, but will not comment.

“We are aware of the legal situation regarding Terrion Arnold,” the Lions said. “We will not comment at this time out of respect for the ongoing legal process.”
