Video evidence and 911 audio have undercut the viral claim pushed by leftists that a 3-year-old black boy was targeted by racist parents for being too good at soccer.

The parents of the Florida toddler publicly claimed that police were called on their family because their son was dominating youth soccer games and other parents were jealous of his talent. The allegations quickly went viral, thanks in part to Left-wing children’s entertainer Ms. Rachel, who condemned the incident as “racist” to her six million-plus followers. Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III, race-focused attorney Ben Crump, and others joined in to express outrage over the incident, further amplifying the claims.

However, newly released police body cam footage and 911 audio offer a different account of why officers were called to the scene on Saturday. Also, police have clarified that a youth soccer league official requested assistance over a disturbance involving the boy’s parents, and did not make a complaint about the toddler’s soccer skills.

Video shows league director Thomas Hayes, who is also black, telling officers that the parents were causing a disturbance and that he wanted them removed from the park. He told the officers that he subbed out the toddler so other kids could have a chance to play, too.

“They didn’t like that,” he said of the boy’s parents. “They tell me I’m ignorant, I’m this, I’m that, blah, blah, blah.”

Hayes said that when the toddler was back in the game, he was pushing other kids while playing, a behavior Hayes said he had already asked the child to stop.

“So I call the refs and I say, ‘Hey, if he’s pushing, let him know, ‘No pushing.'” Hayes alleged that the boy’s parents then came over and “created a big scene,” yelling at him and arguing with other parents. “I just want them out, immediately,” Hayes said. “Just get their names, so I can give them their refund.”

The child’s mother, Martasia Griffin, disputed the league’s explanation on video, complaining that her son was being targeted for being too good and insisting there was no other side to the story.

“They’re literally kicking him out of this place because he’s good at soccer,” Griffin told police. “They don’t have no side.”

A 911 call documents Hayes’ account of the dispute. In the call audio, Hayes told authorities that he’d like local police to come remove the boy’s mother from the park. He said the boy had been pushing other children during games and alleged that the mother became disruptive when officials tried to address the behavior. Hayes said in the call that Griffin was following him around and calling him names in front of other families and appeared to be filming him for social media content.

Notably, Hayes acknowledged the toddler’s impressive abilities, telling officers that the toddler was exceptionally talented and scored numerous goals, but insisted that the problem was his parents’ reaction coaching and officiating.

Still, Ms. Rachel, whose real name is Rachel Griffin Accurso, characterized the incident as “racist, sick, traumatizing, and disgusting” on Instagram.

“I’m LIVID! Please sports people give him all the experiences and love,” she wrote. “We’d love to have him on our show to share his amazing skills. I need sports people to show up for him. … I need my sports people to show up!!! This is racist, sick, traumatizing and disgusting.”

“The police were called on a 3-year-old Black [sic] boy because he’s too good at soccer,” the post read. “He was kicked out of the league.”

“Punishing a 3 year old child for being too good at a sport is RIDICULOUS,” Griffin III wrote on social media. His post also falsely claimed that the family had been escorted off the field with a trespass notice.

Winter Park, Florida, police have clarified that officers responded to the dispute, which was not a complaint about the child’s soccer skills. Police also confirmed that the family cooperated with officers and that nobody was arrested, trespassed, or forced to leave the park.

The youth sports organization, i9 Sports, said it is reviewing the incident and has contacted the family.

I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
