Agents with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Detroit arrested Raad Alanbagi, who worked as an intelligence officer under Hussein. The arrest appears to have taken place near Dearborn, home to the largest per capita Muslim population in the United States and where a local sheik recently promised to build an America based on Islamic values.

“HSI special agents arrested Raad Alanbagi after an HSI-led investigation uncovered information tying him to prior service as a high-ranking Iraqi intelligence officer during the Saddam Hussein era, HSI continues to safeguard our communities and national security,” Homeland Security Investigations Detroit announced on social media.

Over 50% of the Dearborn’s residents have roots in the Middle East or North Africa. Last month, the sheikh of a mosque in Dearborn Heights declared that Islam and the Shiite faith are “coming to America” and said its adherents would help “build America.”

“We will build America on the basis of moral civilization and Islam,” said Sheikh Ibrahim Yassine. “What they have is no civilization. It is nothing but worldly life, nothing but technology. For them, civilization means killing nations and plundering their resources, even if it means killing all the people.”

No other information was immediately available on Alanbagi’s arrest. It was unclear when he entered the United States or how long he had been in the country. The Daily Wire reached out to the Department of Homeland Security for more information. Hussein led Iraq from 1979 until 2003 when he was overthrown by American forces.

Homeland Security Investigations focuses on cracking down on drug and weapons smuggling, cyber and financial crime, illegal technology exports and intellectual property crime, and child exploitation.

Dearborn’s city council recently refused to denounce Sharia law after a local Christian pastor confronted council members at a town hall meeting.

“America, we have lost this city. This is a city that is no longer up under American laws; we are up under Sharia law. We will not have it anymore,” said pastor Lorenzo Sewell. “Enough is enough.”

In Michigan, Democrat Abdul El-Sayed is running to become the first Muslim elected to the U.S. Senate. El-Sayed has previously promised to live his life in accordance with Sharia law and faced criticism for displaying a book on his shelf written by an Islamic scholar linked to the 1993 World Trade Center terrorist attack.

I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
