Kennedy died on September 21 at her Westwood, Massachusetts, home, according to her obituary. Her cause of death has not been publicly disclosed.

Her grandfather, Robert F. Kennedy, served as U.S. Attorney General and a senator from New York before he was assassinated in 1968 while seeking the Democratic presidential nomination.

Kennedy suffered a severe spinal cord injury in 2020 that left her with “long term paralysis, disability, and other medical challenges,” according to her obituary.

“The years that followed brought struggles but Kyle fought to maintain her dry wit and determination through it all, trying to be the best possible mother to her sons and caring for her two beloved, ill-behaved Wheaten terriers,” the obituary reads. “She also began to advocate for people living with disabilities, including testifying at the Massachusetts state house in a hearing on discrimination in disabled health care.”

Kennedy is survived by two sons, Conor, 12, and Declan, 10. Her daughter Josie, Conor’s twin sister, died 12 years ago, days after her birth. Kennedy was one of Robert and Ethel Kennedy’s 34 grandchildren.

I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
