Seattle fire crews respond to 3-alarm Industrial District warehouse fire, roof partially collapses

Firefighters in Seattle responded to a 3-alarm commercial warehouse fire in the city's Industrial District early Wednesday morning, nearly 24 hours after another fire in the nearby Central District.

The blaze broke out just before 1 a.m. local time on the 4500 block of 7th Avenue S and reportedly involved two tractor trailers that were on fire and extended to the warehouse, Seattle Fire spokesman David Cuerpo said at a press conference near the scene.

Officials found multiple large metal and plastic barrels inside one of the trailers and surrounding the building, prompting them to put out the fire from a safe distance, he said. Cuerpo confirmed that the barrels inside the trailer and around the building were empty upon further inspection.

Firefighters reported that the roof of the warehouse partially collapsed at 1:15 a.m., preventing personnel from entering the remnants of the building. Crews extinguished the fire around 3:22 a.m. and did not report any injuries. An investigation is still underway, Cuerpo said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

This comes after another fire broke out in another commercial building on Tuesday morning, approximately 20 minutes away on the 2700 block of E Madison St. in the Central District. The fire broke out at approximately 3:22 a.m. and crews were able to extinguish the fire at approximately 5:30 a.m.

No injuries were reported, and Cuerpo confirmed that the cause of the fire was accidental in the same press conference on Wednesday morning.
