The holdout juror who refused to agree that Lindsay Clancy was not guilty of murdering her children by reason of insanity was a black man, the lone minority on the panel.

The information about the racial background of the jurors was revealed on Friday morning by a fellow juror, Paula Devlin. She previously came forward days after the mistrial was declared with two other older female jurors to voice support for Clancy and heap praise on Clancy’s defense lawyer Kevin Reddington.

Devlin told CBS host Gayle King that the ages of the jurors ranged from 22-70 years old, with “one person of color.” When she revealed that the holdout was a black man, King appeared visibly shaken.

“One person of color — was the person of color a woman or a man?” King pressed. “A man,” Devlin responded.

“Is the holdout juror a black man?” King tepidly asked. “Yes,” the juror answered.

“A black man is the holdout juror?” King said. “Whoa. I have to sit with that for just a second.”

Daily Wire host Matt Walsh pointed out how the revelation could cause issues for leftists who have supported Clancy and ripped the holdout juror.

“This is amazing. The Left has been trashing this guy all week only to find out that he was the only black person on the jury, getting hounded by bossy white women. Just perfect,” Walsh wrote.

Multiple Clancy jurors have come forward over the past week with inside information about the deliberations. Devlin and the two female jurors told News 10 Boston that the holdout juror was “arrogant” and complained that he would not listen to the female nurses on the panel who gave him information about a toxicology report presented in evidence. “They spoke to that specific thing, the question that he had [about the toxicology report] — he just completely disregarded the information that they gave,” Devlin said.

In another eye-catching moment, a younger female juror admitted that her decision to find the defendant not guilty by reason of insanity was rooted in her desire for Clancy to get mental health help, not necessarily the evidence presented in the case.

“Originally, I felt as though she was guilty and she was criminally responsible for it, and maybe I still believe that in a certain way,” the female juror told CBS Boston. “I think that this was a woman who, you know, she was not mentally healthy. She was someone that was in the throes of a significant mental health crisis, so I really just felt like she was so deep in it that she couldn’t see her way out. And so this was the only option.”

Clancy admitted to killing her three young children in her home, but relied on what’s known as an insanity defense to try to evade criminal responsibility. A mistrial was declared last week after the jury remained deadlocked following days of deliberations. It’s now up to the state to decide if they will retry Clancy for the crimes.

I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
