Authorities say Kristopher Karolkiewicz, 47, fatally shot his wife, Amanda Karolkiewicz, 39, and their six children before taking his own life and setting the family’s home on fire.

According to The Detroit News, Amanda posted under the Reddit username MandyK1179, where she wrote extensively about her marriage and alleged her husband’s infidelity. The Holland Sentinel reported that it independently verified the account by matching details about the couple, including their residence, ages, and occupations.

The account, which spanned roughly three years, initially described the marriage as  “living in a Hallmark movie.” Later posts painted a dramatically different picture, including allegations that Kristopher had an affair with an intern.

“I was the intern at the company we both worked for. He was divorced and older than me… fast forward ten years and five kids, he was cheating with the intern again- the same age I was when I was the intern,” she wrote in the ‘As One After Infidelity’ subreddit. “I was five babies in, and was actually not in bad physical shape, but I was in the trenches of little kids, and just couldn’t be who I was before.”

According to the posts, Amanda also wrote that she was “terrified” and would not have remained married if not for their children.

The account further alleged that Kristopher’s infidelity led the couple to marriage counseling and therapy.

“I don’t feel bad still. He towers over me and destroyed me mentally,” the account commented on the page two years ago. “It felt like I was being assaulted and needed to fight back. I think it’s a fight or flight thing.”

The couple had been married for 17 years before the apparent murder-suicide.

Authorities have not announced a motive and said the investigation remains ongoing.

I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
