UCLA Marks 9/11 Anniversary With Platform For Terror Mastermind Lawyer

UCLA’s approach to memorializing 9/11 is on full display as the elite West Coast university turns the 25th anniversary of America’s darkest day into an ivory-tower slam on national security that features radical activists, terror apologists, and legal representatives for mass murderers.

Instead of honoring the nearly 3,000 innocents massacred on September 11, 2001, or the brave first responders who rushed into the burning towers, the UCLA School of Law is marking the solemn milestone by hosting a deeply offensive symposium. Dubbed “25 Years After 9/11: Reimagining Freedom, Justice, and Security,” the gathering gives top billing to a defense attorney representing 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, as well as an activist Yale academic who dismissed U.S. counterterrorism efforts as a “racist gravy train,” the New York Post reported.

The event schedule allocates a paltry 15-minute window for a moment of “remembrance” for the victims, but sets aside an hour for lunch. Outraged 9/11 family members and heroic FDNY veterans have blasted the university for giving a microphone to anti-American rhetoric while ignoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Yet, this latest outrage comes as no surprise to observers of the radicalized campus. UCLA has long served as a home for Left-wing extremism, revisionist history, and hostility toward common sense.

At the Anderson School of Management, one professor published an infamous argument asserting that America’s fire departments suffer from too much “whiteness” and “masculinity.” She claimed that traditional physical fitness tests prioritize “brawn and courage” to maintain male dominance.

In another display, a UCLA Egyptology professor published a book falsely asserting that Kyle Rittenhouse shot two black men during the 2020 Kenosha unrest. When called out for fabricating basic, easily verifiable facts about white victims, she offered a defensive apology, deflecting criticism by lecturing the public on America’s “deep-seated obsession with patriarchal power” and unchecked “white supremacy.”

UCLA has been repeatedly targeted by lawsuits, including federal action from the Department of Justice, after campus administrators allowed anti-Israel zealots to establish unlawful encampments. Activists enforced physical “exclusion zones” across central campus halls, requiring students to disavow the Jewish state to pass through while university officials turned a blind eye.

The current 9/11 symposium continues this shameless tradition. The speaker lineup includes an Islamic activist who previously called for attacks against Israel, as well as an academic who publicly praised the brutal murder of a health insurance executive as a “spectacular act of protest.” Panels are set to tackle topics like “White Christian nationalism” and anti-police rhetoric.

Forget American patriotism.

When challenged on the revolting nature of the program, university administrators hid behind standard-issue corporate speak, citing a “longstanding commitment to academic freedom.”

But for the families of those lost on 9/11, UCLA’s willingness to turn a national day of mourning into a platform for terror defenders tells them everything they need to know.
