WATCH: ‘Democrats’ Football Player Levels Rival Carrying American Flag In Dirty Pre-Game Hit

A high school football player charged across the field and flattened a member of the opposing team who was carrying the American flag as his team took the field in Portland, Oregon, last Friday.

The jaw-dropping moment came before the Portland Interscholastic League matchup between the Grant Generals and the Jefferson Democrats, which doubled as Jefferson’s homecoming game.

In the footage, a Grant player jogs onto the field holding a large American flag flanked by teammates before a Democrats player charged him and drove him to the turf.

Grant players then rushed toward the Jefferson squad as tempers flared.

The clip went viral after it was posted to X by Taren Feist, the Oregon state director of Women for Gun Rights.

Other social media users commented on the dirty hit, with some calling for the player to be suspended or benched for the rest of the season.

As of Monday, there had been no public word of any discipline. It was not clear whether the Grant player was hurt, or what led to the confrontation.

The Daily Wire reached out to Jefferson High School for comment.

Grant went on to win the game 35-14. It was the fourth straight blowout loss for Jefferson.

The two Portland schools share one of the city’s most heated rivalries with a history of violent behavior. In 2017, police were called to a light rail station after a brawl broke out following a Grant-Jefferson game, and school leaders launched an inquiry into student altercations.
