Gill Blasts Talarico’s Christian Beliefs in Scathing Republican Convention Speech

Texas Republican Rep. Brandon Gill blasted his state’s Democrat Senate candidate James Talarico for claiming to be a Christian while embracing a left-wing ideology Gill believes is hostile to the faith.

Gill spoke during the opening night of the Republican National Convention in Dallas, Texas, on Wednesday.

“Here in Texas, we have James ‘God-is-non-binary-we-need-to-dismantle-capitalism’ Talarico,” Gill said. Talarico “is somebody who will hollow out your Christian faith and wear it like a skin suit. That’s extreme and deplorable.” 

Talarico has claimed that there are six genders and that God is “non-binary.”

“How can people who have such a transparent disdain for this country be trusted to govern it?” Gill questioned, saying that the last time Democrats were in power, the White House lawn was turned into “Transgender Day of Visibility” on Easter Sunday. 

Gill then pivoted to target Michigan Democratic Senate Candidate Abdul El-Sayed, who he claimed is an “extremist” who “sympathized with terrorists.”  

In March, El-Sayed  stated that he would not address the death of former Iranian Ayatollah Ali Khamenei because people in Dearborn, Michigan, were mourning.

When pressed about that remark during a CNN appearance, El-Sayed deflected the claim by reiterating that the war affects a lot of people, aside from the dead American service members he singled out. 

Gill also said El-Sayed previously campaigned numerous times with leftist streamer Hasan Piker, who said that “America deserved 9/11.” 

“Now we have to admit that every party has their crazies, the difference is that the Democratic Party nominates theirs to Congress,” Gill said after he mentioned both Talarico and El-Sayed.
