Police reveal new details about gunman, 5 victims killed in rural Michigan shooting rampage

State police on Saturday identified the ages of six people, including a suspected gunman, who were killed Friday in rural Missaukee County, Michigan, multi-scene shooting.

On Friday, Michigan State Police (MSP) shared on social media that officers were investigating a shooting in the area that was reported just before noon and that authorities were looking for suspect Chad Hickman, 39, who they said should be considered "armed and dangerous."

In an update on Saturday afternoon, police revealed the ages and genders of the victims.

At around 11:40 a.m. local time Friday, state troopers were dispatched to a home on South LaChance Road in Lake Township, where they found three people who had been killed, including a 45-year-old man, 40-year-old woman and 16-year-old boy.

In the same home, troopers also found a 13-year-old girl who had been shot, according to MSP.

Authorities said she was taken to the hospital in critical condition. As of Saturday afternoon, she is in stable condition.

During the "large-scale" search for Hickman, police found a fourth body at another home in Missaukee County belonging to a 53-year-old man, authorities said.

State police said Hickman's car was seen near a wooded area where his body, along with the body of a 29-year-old woman were later found. 

Police said there is no ongoing danger to the public, and that the investigation remains ongoing. 

The names of the victims have not yet been publicly released.

"Not only is this difficult for our investigators and our troopers, but it's very hard for this community. You know, this type of loss is tragic," MSP public information officer Lt. Ashley Miller told UpNorthLive. "We're going to conduct a thorough investigation. And we want to make sure to keep our community members up to date on our current situation and what we're discovering throughout this process."

Missaukee County is located roughly three hours north of Detroit.
