Schumer's Shutdown Ends With Democrats Getting Nothing
All the GOP wanted was a 7 week funding extension to iron out with democrats several appropriations measures due before the end of the year. No pork. No extras. Just 7 weeks to keep the government rolling while the work got finished. Democrats said no and demanded $1.5T in new spending. The GOP held the line. We will work together to figure out your hot mess Obamacare, but we need these 7 weeks to get these appropriations ironed out, they said. Democrats again said no and demanded $40B for insurance companies. 41 days later - 8 democrats who are in NO DANGER of being primaried - crossed the aisle. FOR WHAT? What was accomplished? Nothing. Except a spotlight now shines on Obamacare's monster failures, illegals grifting off our social services, and a democrat party that seems poised for an internal revolution. I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
