U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani in Massachusetts, a Barack Obama appointee, had ruled to block Trump’s mail-in voting policy in two separate cases.

One was a case brought by 23 Democrat-led states and the District of Columbia, which the Supreme Court reversed on Monday, ruling the states lacked standing.

Today’s ruling involved an injunction in a case brought by liberal groups such as the League of Women Voters, the American Civil Liberties Union, and others.

The Daily Signal reported Tuesday that election law experts anticipated Talwani would drop the injunction in the second case.

“In sum, the court finds that, in light of the Supreme Court’s decision in Trump v. California, Plaintiff Organizations are not likely to prevail as to ripeness without amending their complaint to reflect the fact that a Final Rule has now issued,” Talwani wrote in the conclusion of her order.

However, she also said in the ruling that the plaintiffs have “substantial arguments that might persuade the Supreme Court to reach a different result” if they had the chance to argue before the Supreme Court.

The ruling comes the same day a US Postal Service rule on mail-in ballots that was published in the Federal Register.

The Postal Service rule, adopted in response to Trump’s March executive order on election integrity, requires election officials to upload the names and addresses of mail-in ballot recipients to a Postal Service portal before the ballots are sent to voters. Ballots not added to the portal would be rejected.

I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
