Turning Point Action Flexes Midterm Muscle in Indiana

Turning Point Action just showed the GOP, and the country, what they are capable of accomplishing in the midterms, and beyond. While President Donald Trump initiated the redistricting fight in Indiana, boots on the ground from TPAction volunteers delivered the removal of anti‑redistricting lawmakers from the state Senate.

“We know what it takes to win,” Turning Point Action’s national enterprise director, Brett Galaszewski, told The Daily Signal.

Turing Point Action is the political action arm of Turning Point USA, founded by Charlie Kirk who was murdered in 2025. It is a 501(c)(4) organization and exists to “equip and empower all generations to engage in grassroots activism and emerge as leaders in their communities,” according to the organization’s website. Trump has long credited Kirk to being a critical part of his 2024 victory.

“There’s putting in the work to elect conservatives, knocking doors until your knuckles bleed, chasing votes, voter registration. But then arguably the more important of the two things is accountability. And if you don’t have that, you don’t have anything,” Galaszewski explained.

“We needed to send that message of accountability, not just to Indiana but to the rest of the country, that the Overton Window is shifting. The conservative movement as we know it is changing, and it’s ‘adapt or die’ for a lot of these establishment Republicans who refuse to stand up for the president,” he continued.

The Coalitions

Galaszewski told The Daily Signal that they were part of a “massive coalition” on the ground in Indiana.

“Really it was the Trump team that captained the ship here. I’ll give a ton of credit to James Blair and Matt Brasseaux and those you know that are in President Trump’s inner political circle to really help drive this and emphasize the importance of what an effort like this could do,” he said.

Blair, who played a key role in Trump’s 2024 win, recently—and temporarily—moved from his position as White House deputy chief of staff to lead the president’s outside political operation. The super PAC MAGA Inc. reportedly has a war chest of more than $300 million that could be used in the midterms. Blair and MAGA Inc. have not yet announced the group’s spending plan for the midterm elections.

Sen. Jim Banks, R‑Ind., and political activist Scott Presler, were also heavily involved in the get‑out‑the‑vote effort in the state. Banks went as far as to pour in $3 million from his 501(c)(4) organization, Hoosier Leadership for America, to support Trump‑endorsed primary challengers.

“When we joined the coalition, kind of toward the end of November, we were pleased to find out there was already a lot of infrastructure there. We took it upon ourselves to really be the boots‑on‑the‑ground component of that apparatus,” he continued.

Galaszewski shared that they plan to “build permanent infrastructure” moving into November and 2028. “We know what it takes to win. We’re trained in what needs to be done, and so if we do need to replicate this, we’re able to drop in and help on a moment’s notice.”

“We proved that there is a need and a want for Turning Point Action’s help and resources. So we’ll revel in the win right now … but we’ll put together a plan to help a lot of our candidates get over the hump again in November and look to 2028.”

He explained that TPAction has a formula “we’re able to replicate that in any part of the country, and at any point in time.”

Indiana

Turning Point Action made a commitment to Indiana just before the December redistricting vote that if the state Senate failed to pass the all‑red map, they would be part of a massive effort, working with the president’s team, to hold the Republicans who voted no accountable. Tuesday night, they all proved successful.

“We either endorsed or were heavily involved in nine of the Senate primaries,” Galaszewski explained, “and we’ve won seven of them. We’re waiting on hopefully the eighth with Paula Copenhaver’s effort, as we find out more about the recount and provisional balloting.”

Newly elected Trump‑endorsed candidates who defeated their anti‑redistricting opponents include James “Jay” Starkey, Dr. Brian Schmutzler, Michelle Davis, Tracey Powell, Trevor De Vries, and Blake Fiechter.

Paula Copenhaver, another Trump‑endorsed candidate, is still waiting to see if she defeated her anti‑redistricting opponent. As of Thursday afternoon, she trails incumbent Spencer Deery by only four votes.

Turning Point Action says they are “ready to be mobilized” for the recount. Incumbent Greg Goode was the only candidate to beat his Trump‑endorsed opponent. Though Rep. Marlin Stutzman told The Daily Signal he was “not surprised” by his win. “But you know all the others, I mean, they were blowouts.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
