The crash occurred last Friday afternoon at the Cora Coralina daycare in Campo Verde, a municipality in Brazil’s Mato Grosso state. The facility serves approximately 180 children between the ages of 1 and 5, according to the local mayor, Alexandre Lopes de Oliveira.
Video of the incident shows the aircraft slamming into the building, tearing through a wall and scattering debris across the room as a cloud of dust fills the space. Remarkably, despite the violent impact, no children, teachers, or other daycare employees were injured. Daycare staffers safely evacuated the children and reunited them with their families.

According to local authorities, the plane struck an area of the building that was not being used by students at the time of the crash. The plane also struck the roof of a neighboring public health clinic before hitting the daycare, but no one at the clinic was injured, either.
The 28-year-old pilot was the only person injured in the crash. Emergency responders found him conscious at the scene and transported him to a hospital for treatment. He was later transferred to another hospital and subsequently discharged.
Authorities also confirmed that the agricultural aircraft was not carrying pesticides or other agricultural chemicals when it crashed, eliminating the risk of a potentially hazardous chemical spill at the daycare.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
