Law Enforcement Responds To Active Shooter At Brown University; Casualties Unclear

Authorities in Rhode Island are responding to reports of an active shooter at Brown University.

On Saturday afternoon, officials at the school alerted students that there was an active shooter near the Barus and Holley engineering building, according to Fox News. A text alert instructed students to “lock doors, silence phones and stay hidden until further notice.”

Injuries or fatalities remain unclear, though reporter Nick Sorter said there could be at least six casualties so far, based on police radio alerts.

“Believed to be at least six casualties so far, as more victims continue being found, per radio traffic,” Sortor said. “The masked gunman is currently at large. Pray for the students at Brown.”

Initial reports said the shooter was in custody, though that now remains unclear.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
