Unfriendly Skies: United Scrambles After Leaked ‘Trump Airport’ Memo
Following a new Florida law, Palm Beach International Airport officially rebranded as President Donald J. Trump International Airport on July 9, triggering an immediate meltdown among liberal flyers.

Rather than telling disgruntled passengers to deal with it, United Airlines reportedly caved to the anti-Trump crowd. According to internal documents leaked by the aviation blog Live And Let’s Fly, United issued a memo empowering reservation agents to offer free, even-exchange rerouting to nearby hubs like Fort Lauderdale (FLL) or Miami (MIA) for any traveler throwing a tantrum over flying to Trump International. The leaked memo even provided agents with a scripted, sympathetic response: “I understand that you’d rather not fly to this airport anymore.”
Social media users on Reddit quickly realized the policy created a massive travel loophole, pointing out that passengers could buy dirt-cheap tickets to Palm Beach and simply call United to score a free upgrade to prime Miami routes.
When caught red-handed, United scrambled into full damage-control mode. The carrier told The New York Post that its official policy absolutely prohibits destination changes based on an airport’s name, blaming the controversy on a “poorly worded” internal message.
Effective August 18, President Donald J. Trump International Airport will switch its airport code from PBI to DJT.
United is currently fighting a lawsuit for allegedly charging passengers premium rates for a window seat that doesn’t actually have a window.
“U.S. District Judge James Donato ruled the plaintiffs plausibly alleged United breached its contractual obligations by selling seats identified as window seats even though some were positioned next to solid cabin walls rather than windows,” the Post noted.
United has spent years prioritizing leftist social engineering over standard business practices. Back in April 2021, the carrier announced an aggressive diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) quota for its training academy. United proudly tweeted plans to ensure that 50% of the 5,000 new pilots it trained over the next decade would be women or people of color.
Financed by a $2.4 million financial aid partnership with JPMorgan Chase, the DEI initiative had legal experts warning that hiring based on race and gender quotas bordered on unlawful discrimination.
