A 19-year-old illegal immigrant is accused of groping multiple girls while attending a high school in Virginia — and the Trump administration is now pressuring sanctuary officials in the state against releasing the alleged predator.

Roughly a dozen girls reported that Israel Christopher Flores-Ortiz of El Salvador put his hands between their legs, groped their private areas, and moved his hands to their butts in the school’s hallways, according to ABC 7. He has since been charged with nine counts of assault and battery.

“There’s a group of about 12 individuals that have reported this assault,” one mother told ABC7. “It was all perpetrated by a single individual who is a stranger to the girls. He just sneakily walked up behind them and put his hand in between their legs. It was not just a butt smack or a butt grab. It was a groping of a private area. It had been occurring for several months.”

Flores-Ortiz, an adult, is a junior at Fairfax High School, according to ABC 7. He crossed the border in 2024 and was subsequently released into the United States.

“This 19-year-old criminal illegal alien should NOT have been attending a Virginia high school and allowed to prey on innocent teenage girls. He now faces nine counts of assault and battery. This is yet another example of the Biden Administration’s failed open border policies,” Homeland Security Deputy Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said in a statement Monday.

“We are calling on Fairfax County sanctuary politicians to NOT release this predator from jail back into our communities to assault more teenage women. Unfortunately, Governor Abigail Spanberger ended cooperation with ICE and is siding with criminal illegal aliens over American citizens.”

Spanberger’s office didn’t respond to a request for comment.

The Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office told The Daily Wire they don’t “obstruct or prevent ICE from acting on their civil detainers,” but didn’t say whether they’d notify federal immigration officers of any future release.

“While it is still too early in the process to know the outcome of his case, ICE has been notified of Ortiz’s location at the ADC [Adult Detention Center], and they are able to execute their detainer by responding to the ADC and taking Ortiz into custody if and when he is ordered released,” the sheriff’s office said.

Meanwhile, parents from the school have expressed outrage with what they describe as a cover-up of the gropings. The parents also said the school system told them they would allow the illegal immigrant to return to school upon his release.

“They have attempted to sweep it under the rug,” one mother told ABC7.

“They sent out a letter last night,” the mother said, adding, “But it was a completely sanitized letter.”

The school didn’t notify the parents of the gropings until two weeks after they were reported, ABC7 reported.

“After we demanded it, multiple parents demanded that there be a letter before we got it,” another mother said.

“The girls have experienced harassment and bullying from peers at school, including people that they once thought were their friends, and the letter that they sent out, referencing it only as buttocks touching, just adds fuel to rumors that they were just attention seeking,” one mother told ABC 7.

In a statement to ABC 7, Fairfax County Public Schools declined “to comment on specifics due to federal and state privacy laws,” adding “we prioritize student and staff safety and we fully investigate any time someone shares that an incident has occurred at school, or that they do not feel safe at school.”

“We are grateful to our law enforcement partners who continue to work swiftly and thoroughly when there are safety concerns in our schools. The safety of all FCPS students and staff remains a top priority,” the school system said.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
