Graphic Karmelo Anthony Texts Reveal Violent Rants Months Before Metcalf Murder

Convicted killer Karmelo Anthony posed with guns, ranted about other black people, and accused gay people of “f—king everything up” months before fatally stabbing Austin Metcalf at a Texas high school track meet. 

A never-before-seen 75-page document dump reveals alarming texts between Anthony and his then-girlfriend, depicting a teenager spiraling before resorting to violence and ultimately facing a decades-long prison sentence. 

The Daily Mail first reported images of Anthony flashing a handgun in a November 2024 video, just months before he fatally stabbed Metcalf in the heart at a high school track meet in Frisco, Texas, in April 2025. Another image from May 2024 catches Anthony holding an AK-47-style rifle with three other teenagers. A third video has Anthony aiming a gun at an unknown residence and then running away on Jan. 4, 2025, The Mail reported.

Beyond the incriminating selfies, Anthony also left behind profanity-laced text messages revealing negative views of his own community. A week before the killing, Anthony reportedly sent multiple texts to his girlfriend, Valeria Perez, expressing deep disdain for other black people.

“I f—king despise Black b*tches,” he said, according to a screenshot.“F—king n—ers,” he wrote, according to the documents. “They need to go die.”

In the trove of documents, Anthony also turned his ire toward gay people, writing to a friend in June 2021, “These f—king gay people are f—king everything up.” He also said he hated then-President Joe Biden because he’s “Gay ASB [as balls],” according to the New York Post.

The uncovered dossier never made it to trial and was not shown to jurors, despite revealing additional alleged criminal activity unrelated to the stabbing that sent shockwaves across the country. In an October 2024 text, he told his girlfriend he “might gt [go to] jail” after claiming he had broken into a neighbor’s home and stolen a watch. He also boasted about bringing a gun and knife to school, according to The Post.

In August, a Texas judge rejected Anthony’s long-shot bid for a new murder trial, dealing a major setback to his appellate team, who alleged several errors during the trial. The Collin County District Attorney’s Office has maintained that prosecutors acted ethically throughout the trial, The Daily Wire previously reported.

Evidence presented at trial showed that Anthony refused to leave another team’s tented area and, when confronted by the unarmed Metcalf, stabbed him directly in the heart. A Texas jury rejected his self-defense claim and sentenced Anthony to 35 years in prison.

The case quickly drew national attention, fueled in part by a narrative peddled by the Anthony family and what critics described as a glaring lack of coverage from legacy media outlets, which routinely highlight and escalate white-on-black incidents. The high-profile trial began June 1 with jury selection and wrapped up just nine days later. Anthony broke down in tears and visibly shook as the verdict was read, and he again became emotional when his 35-year sentence was announced.

When Metcalf’s family delivered victim impact statements to the court, Anthony reportedly kept his head down and refused to look them in the eyes, even when asked to do so. 

“You can’t even look me in the eyes right now, but you can stab my f*cking son,” the victim’s father, Jeff Metcalf, said.
