ICE Agent Struck By Renee Good’s Vehicle Suffered Internal Bleeding From Incident, DHS Says

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent who fatally shot Renee Good last week suffered internal bleeding from the incident, Department of Homeland Security officials say.

The extent of the agent’s injury remains unclear. Two U.S. officials briefed on his condition said that the bleeding occurred in his torso, per CBS News.

Good, a 37-year-old activist, blocked and antagonized immigration officials working in Minneapolis on January 7. Accompanied by her wife, she blocked a street with her car and held immigration officials up for several minutes. After immigration agents requested she exit her vehicle, she backed up and pulled forward in the direction of ICE agent Jonathan Ross.

As Good’s vehicle accelerated into Ross, he fired three defense shots at Good, saving his life and the lives of other officers, according to the DHS.

“The officer was hit by the vehicle. She hit him. He went to the hospital. A doctor did treat him. He has been released,” DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said last week.

Officials on the Left, including far-left Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, immediately claimed the administration’s recounting of the incident was not true.

Frey, in fact, claimed he saw the video of the incident and said ICE was “already trying to spin this as an act of self-defense. That is bullsh*t. This was an agent recklessly using power … that resulted in someone dying, getting killed.”

“The narrative that this was done in self-defense is a garbage narrative,” the mayor added.

Frey also broadly blamed the feds for the incident and told ICE to “get the f*ck” out of his city.

“There is little I can say that will make this situation better, but I do have a message for our community, for our city, and I have a message for ICE,” Frey said. “To ICE, get the f*ck out of Minneapolis. We do not want you here. Your stated reason for being in this city is to create some kind of safety and you are doing exactly the opposite. People are being hurt. Families are being ripped apart.”

The Daily Wire reached out to Frey’s office on Wednesday, asking if the mayor would like to retract any past comments in light of this new information about the officer involved in the shooting. We did not immediately hear back.

According to White House border czar Tom Homan, Ross is currently in hiding due to the left-wing narrative painting the agent as a murderer.

Homan said Ross has received an excessive amount of threats made against him and his family since Good’s death. The border czar added that Ross would wait for the investigation to conclude before coming out of hiding and potentially filing lawsuits for defamation.

“I think he’s going to, you know, wait for this investigation to play itself out and wait for them to come out with actual facts, what happened,” Homan said. “Then, I think you may see him take action because I know for a fact, you know, now he has to be in hiding.”
