Ignore Democrat Lies; Birth Certificates Are Easy to Attain
While battling the SAVE America Act, Democrats’ go-to grenade has exploded in their faces. “Photo ID = Jim Crow 2.0!” has proven to be patently prejudiced. It is downright bigoted to claim that blacks and other voters of color are too dazed and confused to acquire photo ID, especially when 50 states already have issued licenses to an estimated 31 million black drivers. Federal agents ask the same supposedly dimwitted black passengers for photo ID at airport checkpoints. Somehow, they comply and fly daily.

No wonder black Americans reject this racist rubbish. In a 2025 Pew Research poll, 76% of blacks favored photo ID to vote, as did 82% of Hispanics. (Ditto: 85% of whites). Just how stupid do leftists think these respondents of color are?
Democrats have built a new hill to die on. They swear that the SAVE America Act’s proof-of-U.S.-citizenship requirement will stymie potential voters. Democrats whine that locating one’s birth certificate is an insurmountable hurdle—like pinpointing one’s kindergarten report card.
“You have to prove U.S. citizenship,” Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., told MS Now’s Chris Jansing. “If you don’t have a passport, it’s pretty hard to prove that, unless you can somehow find your birth certificate.”
“You’ve got to find your birth certificate, Democrat California Gov. Gavin Newsom recently moaned. “I have no clue where mine is.”
“I don’t have my birth certificate,” Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., told KTLA-TV. Mystified, he added, “God knows how I get it.”
Divine intervention is unnecessary here.
Birth certificates are far easier to attain than leftist liars argue. One need not trawl through parental attics for such papers.
Instead, VitalChek.com offers birth certificates online. I applied for one from California in eight minutes. This is so easy, even Newsom could do it.
VitalChek is a 45-state solution. Hawaii, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and Wyoming offer birth records online, but only through their own websites.
VitalChek’s prices average $35.16, ranging from as little as Michigan’s $9 to as much as Arizona’s $95. (The five non-VitalChek states charge from Vermont’s $12 to Wyoming’s $26.) Shipping is extra. Documents arrive directly from relevant government agencies.
“Photo ID costs money!” Democrats will bellow.
Republicans want photo IDs gratis for voting. They could arrange for VitalChek and its competitors to accept a coupon code (e.g., REGISTER). This would slash prices to $0.00. The U.S. Treasury would pay this foregone revenue to VitalChek et al.
Alternatively, Audacy/YouTube host Annie Frey suggests that new voters recover registration expenses via federal tax credits.
Republicans would endorse such federal spending. Another Democrat kvetch bites the dust.
Meanwhile, public enthusiasm remains enormous and bipartisan for the SAVE America Act and its reforms. A Feb. 25-26 Harvard-Harris survey of 1,999 registered voters found that 71% support this measure, including 50% of Democrats, 69% of independents, and 91% of Republicans.
Regarding proof of citizenship to register, 75% of those polled agree, specifically: 61% of Democrats, 73% of independents, and 90% of Republicans.
Should states delete foreign citizens from voter rolls? Broadly, 80% approve, namely 72% of Democrats, 76% of independents, and 90% of GOP participants.
Photo ID to vote? Overall, 81% applaud. Democrats: 70%. Independents: 79%. Republicans: 92%.
Thus, Republicans, independents, and even Democrats overwhelmingly want the SAVE America Act and its policies. Simultaneously, Democrat critiques have devolved from ridiculous to racist.
So, why the hell is this bill stuck in the Senate?
Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., seems too petrified to schedule a vote and, if necessary, push Democrats into a talking filibuster. Thune should make them stand up until their knees buckle. Let Democrats explain why they reject legislation that at least half their fellow Democrats desire, as do seven of 10 independents and nine of 10 Republicans.
Americans demand the SAVE America Act.
Senate Republicans should give them what they want.
Thune: Get on with it. Lead or step aside.
