Jasmine Crockett Mocked For Bizarre Rap Promoting Michigan Democrat

Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett raised eyebrows with a rap video she made for TikTok with Michigan Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist after endorsing him in his campaign for governor.

The video begins with Gilchrist facing the camera — back-to-back with Crockett, who is barely visible behind him — lip-syncing to “What’s Up,” the 1993 smash hit by the 4 Non Blondes. Text on the screen reads, “POV you’re about to elect Michigan’s first Black governor.”

“And so I wake in the morning and I step outside. And I take a deep breath and I get real high. And I scream from the top of my lungs,” he mouths the words, and then the camera swings around to Crockett.

Crockett dives right into her impression of rapper Nicki Minaj, dancing as she lip-syncs, “Bit**es ain’t sh** and they ain’t sayin’ nothin’, A hundred mothafu**ers can’t tell me nothin’, I beez in the trap, be-beez in the trap, I beez in the trap, be-beez in the trap.”

“Idiocracy was a documentary,” observed New York City Councilwoman Vickie Paladino.

“Can you imagine our founders watching this …” Robby Starbuck mused.

Radio host Justin Barclay added, “If one were seriously running for governor in Michigan, Jasmine Crockett wouldn’t be on your list to work with.”

“Michigan Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist just released this ridiculous gubernatorial campaign video featuring a sitting member of Congress. Gilchrist says: ‘Take it from Jasmine Crockett, Trump can’t tell me nothin’,'” Newsmax’s David Harris Jr. said.

The Gilchrist and Crockett video came just over two weeks after the White House posted a TikTok video using the same musical mashup.

Gilchrist hosted a fundraising event featuring the Texas Democrat in Detroit over the weekend, and has also been endorsed by Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI). He is the first Democrat in a crowded primary field to state that the situation in Gaza is an active “genocide.”

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
