Parents Need To Vote On Biological Realities Despite Gender Ideology’s Political Cash

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) is planning to spend more than $15 million to push transgender ideology this midterm season. It’s shocking how some on the Left continue to double down and spend seemingly endless amounts of money on an ideology that data tells us an overwhelming majority of Americans continue to reject.

Parents across America, including those who prefer to “stay out of politics,” are tired of this political ideology undermining parental rights and encouraging their children to favor secrecy from family and explore medicalization or permanent surgeries as minors.

For this reason, parents must ensure that anyone continuing to push this harmful ideology learns their lesson at the ballot box this November.

In a country sharply divided on a host of issues, most Americans agree on the following: taxpayers shouldn’t pay for transgender surgeries, access to private spaces should be based on biological sex, and young children who can’t drink, drive, or vote should not undergo irreversible medical interventions.

Polling shows that almost 80% of Americans, including 67% of Democrats, oppose biological men competing on women’s sports teams. In recent years, there’s been an 8% increase in Americans who support requiring transgender people to use bathrooms based on biological sex rather than gender identity. Today, a majority of Americans oppose transgender surgeries on minors.

In the 2024 presidential election, growing pushback against transgender ideology devastated far-left presidential candidate Kamala Harris. Even the New York Times’ analysis of the election emphasized how the issue crippled the Harris campaign, including the blistering headline: “Harris Loss Has Democrats Fighting Over How to Talk About Transgender Rights.”

Since then, major American institutions have increasingly distanced themselves from the topic. Just this past spring, a leading medical organization walked back support for transgender interventions on kids – presumably motivated by a detransitioner’s successful medical malpractice lawsuit against doctors who operated on her as a minor.

The far-left extremists running the HRC, however, can’t seem to get the message.

In recent months, HRC, the largest LGBTQ advocacy group and political lobbying organization in the United States. attacked President Donald Trump’s administration for prohibiting the use of taxpayer funds on transgender surgeries for minors. It repeatedly fights state and federal legislation seeking to protect vulnerable children from rushing into irreversible mastectomies and bottom surgeries. It doggedly promotes resources encouraging parents and educators to support or affirm children who think they might be transgender. And it has even argued that children should be allowed to undergo permanent gender-reassignment surgeries because these decisions are “personal.”

Parents are terrified of their child becoming like Chloe Cole, a young girl who was pressured into a double mastectomy as a minor. Chloe has since detransitioned but will spend her life regretting the surgery. They know the story of Fox Varian, who was similarly pressured into undergoing a permanent double mastectomy as a minor, and the story of then-18-year-old

Prisha Mosley, who was told that her eating disorder and depression stemmed from a “gender-identity crisis,” and underwent a double mastectomy.

In these and many other cases, children were pressured into making life-altering decisions by those who claim to have their best interests at heart. And in many instances, their parents were either excluded from these consequential decisions affecting their children, or they were given an unthinkable ultimatum: “Would you rather have a live son or a dead daughter?”

Most of the medical professionals and activists who pushed these decisions will never confront the parents and children whose lives they upended for a political ideology. They, like the HRC, continue to live in a bubble, completely oblivious to both the consequences of their actions and the horror with which most Americans regard them.

Only through successful malpractice lawsuits and resounding political defeats can American parents send them the message that using children as guinea pigs for a lucrative political ideology will not be tolerated.

Right now, the HRC thinks that its $15 million bid might convince voters to change their minds on transgender ideology. Instead, I hope it galvanizes parents across America into the loudest “silent” majority that the nation has ever heard.
