Trump Administration Celebrates New Resource to Create ‘Culture of Life’

After the Biden administration discouraged women from visiting pro-life pregnancy centers, President Donald Trump introduced a resource Monday that directs expecting mothers to their doors.

“This administration is really focused on how we support families, and one of those ways is advocating for and championing the many support services and clinical services that support pregnant and new mothers,” Health and Human Services senior advisor and counselor to the secretary Natalie Dodson said. “Pregnancy centers have been supporting new mothers in many ways for a long time.”

HHS launched a new website, Moms.Gov, which helps new and expecting mothers find pregnancy centers, federal health clinics, pregnancy diet guidelines, and fertility support.

The celebration of pregnancy centers marks a stark contrast from the attitude of the previous administration, which proposed a rule that made it harder for states to direct funds from the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program to pregnancy resource centers.

The Biden Justice Department aggressively enforced the FACE Act, a federal law protecting access to abortion clinics and pregnancy centers, against pro-life activists, while prosecuting very few pro-choice activists who vandalized pregnancy centers.

Democrats in Congress also sought to pressure pregnancy centers. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., introduced a bill to prevent pregnancy centers from “deceiving” women on choosing life.

Dodson said the clinics are criticized “unfairly.”

“This administration recognizes the importance of pregnancy centers, and we’re grateful to have worked with them and work with them currently through the Option Line to support mothers in need.”

Heartbeat International is overseeing Option Line, a contact center that receives inquiries by call, text and chat. It has connected more than nine million women to pregnancy help since opening in 2003.

The website showcases America’s “culture of life,” according to Dodson.

“The administration has really been focused on supporting life-affirming policies in many, many ways,” she said. “Pregnancy centers do really live out the culture of life; they support women at every step. We’ve heard from one individual today who shared her testimony of how she was supported through her pregnancy and through the early life of her first child.”

Stephanie Haridopolos, chief of staff in the Office of the Surgeon General and HHS senior advisor, said pregnancy centers partner with the federal government to improve the health of women and babies.

“This gives them the ability to connect with hope on so many different levels, whether it be lower socioeconomic women that physically need a place to live or have legal help,” she told The Daily Signal. “These resource centers are more than just checking for sexually transmitted diseases or giving them a pregnancy test. They connect them to very amazing resources that can help them with further connection.”

I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
