Ultra-Woke ‘One Battle After Another’ Leads Golden Globes With 9 Total Nominations
The Golden Globes were announced today, and the poorly performing, but critically acclaimed political action thriller, “One Battle After Another,” leads the pack with nine total nominations.
Paul Thomas Anderson’s film was nominated in several major categories, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay. Other projects with the most nominations include “Sinners” with seven total, “Hamnet” with six, and “Frankenstein” and “Wicked: For Good” with five each.
For television categories, “The White Lotus” led the pack with six nominations, while the controversial “Adolescence” received five, and “Only Murders in the Building” and “Severance” got four each.
“One Battle After Another” stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Bob Ferguson, a former far-left revolutionary living off-grid in a state of stoned paranoia, but is forced to return to his old lifestyle when his daughter disappears. Bob teams up with his old crew of comrades to save his daughter and the world from a cabal of right-wing antagonists portrayed as racists. The leftists resort to violence in their mission, raising questions about whether their actions reflect genuine heroism or simply serve as a vehicle for political messaging.
Many conservatives balked at the storyline, especially as instances of real-life violence against federal immigration agents continue.
Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro called it “apologia for radical left-wing terrorism.”
“One Battle” has a 95% critical rating and 85% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, yet was considered a box office flop that struggled to recoup its production budget.
