President Trump Gives Shedeur Sanders Rave Review After First Start

Shedeur Sanders has a laundry list of critics, but the most powerful man in the world is a huge fan.

President Donald Trump gave the son of two-time Super Bowl champ Deion Sanders a rave review after Sanders made his first start as the Cleveland Browns quarterback.

“Shedeur Sanders was GREAT,” Trump said. “Wins first game, career start, as a pro (for Cleveland.)
Great Genes.”

Trump ended his TruthSocial post with an enthusiastic, “I TOLD YOU SO!”

In Sunday’s contest against the Raiders, Sanders completed 11 of 20 passes for 209 yards with one touchdown and an interception in the Browns’ 24-10 win.

The 23-year-old said after the game he wasn’t nervous for his first professional start.

“I’m not gonna lie, I felt very relaxed. Half of that comes from preparing, studying, and knowing I got God on my side.”

Trump has been on the Shedeur Sanders train since the NFL Draft this past April. Sanders was a Heisman finalist, and projected as a first-round pick. Then he famously fell to the fifth round of the draft before Cleveland picked the Colorado quarterback 144th overall. Who called out the NFL teams for passing on Sanders? President Trump, whose Monday praise backed up his initial scouting report from April.

“What is wrong with NFL owners, are they STUPID?” Trump said at the time. “Deion Sanders was a great college football player and was even greater in the NFL…therefore, Shedeur, his quarterback son, has PHENOMENAL GENES, and is all set for greatness. He should be picked IMMEDIATELY by a team who wants to WIN. Good luck Shedeur, and say hello to your wonderful father!”

Deion Sanders was in Las Vegas Sunday for his oldest son’s big game. The performance was enough for Browns Head Coach Kevin Stefanski to make Sanders the official starting quarterback on Monday, despite Dillon Gabriel clearing concussion protocol.

Sanders has been Cleveland’s backup quarterback behind Joe Flacco and, most recently, Gabriel, who the Browns drafted in the third round. Critics came for Sanders after he saw the field for the first time all season in Week 11 against the Ravens. Through the air, he was 4-16 for 47 yards and an interception.

Stefanski wouldn’t tell reporters if the decision to keep Sanders as the starting quarterback was permanent. The head coach said he’d rather focus on this week’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Stefanski said he’s excited for Sanders to have gotten his first win.

“The number one job of a quarterback is to win. The next thing is improvement, and that’s what young players do.”

Trump will get to cheer Sanders on this Sunday. The Browns and 49ers kick off at 1:00 ET.

Fibis I am just an average American. My teen years were in the late 70s and I participated in all that that decade offered. Started working young, too young. Then I joined the Army before I graduated High School. I spent 25 years in, mostly in Infantry units. Since then I've worked in information technology positions all at small family owned companies. At this rate I'll never be a tech millionaire. When I was young I rode horses as much as I could. I do believe I should have been a cowboy. I'm getting in the saddle again by taking riding lessons and see where it goes.
